Katherine Marie Romenesko (Katie) age 16, brightened heaven with her smile November 4, 2016 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Katie worked at Chenequa Country Club and was an exceptional student at Arrowhead High School, playing doubles on the AHS tennis team and racing on the ski team. She was a unique soul with a positive attitude who was wise beyond her years. Katie knew that experiences, not material things, are what is important and that joy is in giving.
She will be sadly missed by her parents Cindy and Jeff, sister Elaine, brother Alex, grandmother Donna Eyer and many other relatives and countless dear friends. Katie was preceded in death by her grandfather Robert Eyer, grandparents Agnes and Wesley Romenesko and aunt Paula Schink (nee Romenesko).
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 7:00 PM at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland. A gathering for family and friends will begin at 4:00 PM and continue until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers memorials given to the family will be used for a future remembrance in Katie's name.
Dear friends of Katie and the Romenesko family,
The Flower Garden in downtown Hartland is helping with a special memorial for Katie’s funeral. They are selling yellow (Katie’s favorite color) with orange (the color for leukemia) tipped roses to make a special ribbon shaped memorial. Friends can stop in to the Flower Garden and purchase a flower for $5.00. Two dollars of every flower purchased will go to the “Leukemia and Lymphoma Society”. Because of the donation, they would prefer to have the flowers paid in cash. You will also be able to write a small note with your name or special message that they will collect as well. Please try to get in as soon as possible. All orders must be in by noon on Thursday. Please pass this along to anyone that you think would like to participate.
Let’s show this wonderful family how much we love them and their special girl.
