Paul Mikulak found peace on Thursday morning, March 17, 2016 at the age of 70.
He is survived by his wife, Denise; brothers Mark and Peter; sons, David (Katie), Andrew (Shannon), Matt (Sunshine); step children, Cameron (Ericka) and Spencer Gamble. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty (Oakhill); brothers, Timothy and David.
Paul graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois. He attended Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio where he graduated with a degree in English. Paul taught high school English at Elgin Academy in Elgin, Illinois and at University Lake School in Hartland. After leaving the teaching profession, Paul worked in the lumber wholesale and manufacturing industry with positions in sales and operations. He served on Governor Tommy Thompson’s Council on Forestry.
Paul was an avid reader of the classic literature and was especially fond of William Faulkner’s writings. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, and watching sporting events.
The family would like to extend its gratitude to all the nurses, doctors, and volunteers of Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc for comforting and caring for Paul during his time at their facility.
A Memorial Ceremony will be held April 9th at 12:00 p.m. at the Luko-Evert Funeral Home, 170 Warren Avenue, Hartland. Friends may call at the funeral home between 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow at the Flanagan Dorn American Legion Post 294 in Hartland. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Angels Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc would be greatly appreciated.
