Mary D. Lorbach, 68, of Okauchee, passed away peacefully at home with her husband of 49 years by her side on Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
Mary was born on September 8, 1949 in Washburn, WI to Robert and Edna (Pallage) Malott.
Mary married the love of her life, Stephen Lorbach, on July 22, 1968, in South Carolina. At the time, they resided off Fort Bragg military base, North Carolina. They moved back to Milwaukee and eventually settled to make their home in Okauchee in 1973.
Mary was a kind, compassionate, fun loving woman who will be remembered for her goofy sense of humor, contagious laugh and smile, and her high energy. She was always busy and never just sat and relaxed, even until her final days. Mary spent her life caring for her family, children, and grandchildren. She took great pride in making her home beautiful. Mary enjoyed planting flowers, taking care of her beloved pets, fireworks, politics, and spending time with her family, especially the grandkids. She loved going to fairs and going on the carnival rides, and she always outlasted the kids up until the age of 60. She enjoyed going to Brewers games, museums, the zoo, school concerts, and the kids’ sporting events.
Mary is survived by her husband, Stephen; daughter, Diane Lorbach Krahn (Andy Conant) of Helenville; grandchildren, Brett Krahn, Erin Krahn, Kinley Conant, and Lexi Lorbach; her brother, John Malott Sr.; and many nephews and other relatives.
Mary was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Lorbach, in 2012; and her parents, Robert and Edna Malott.
Per Mary’s request, a private service was held for the immediate family at the time of her passing.
“This isn’t goodbye. We will be together again.
Until then, know that I will always love you darling
and keep you safe, just like I’ve always done.”
