        "Gertie"
 




                        A. Gertrude “Gertie” Grant, age 95 of North Lake, WI, passed                         away on April 21, 2018.

Gertie was born November 14, 1922 in Iola,Wisconsin to Carl and Helma (Reierson) Sether. She grew up in Scandinavia and graduated from Iola High School. She helped her family by delivering milk to the Iola Creamery, where she met her future husband, Bob Grant. They married on her 19th birthday and celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in November 2016.

Gertie was a wife, mother and homemaker. She, Bob and their young daughter moved to Milwaukee in 1946. When they built their house in Fox Point, she was seen carrying shingles up a two-story ladder, delivering them to Bob to finish the roof. Gertie and Bob lived there for 20 years. In 1972, they moved to North Lake in Waukesha County. Gertie waterskied into her 50’s which was amazing as she never learned how to swim. They enjoyed their life on the lake for over 40 years, entertaining family and friends.

Gertie was preceded in death by her husband in 2017. Gertie is survived by three daughters, CyAnn, Mary and Carol, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Gertie was very active in many organizations and volunteer groups. She held several volunteer positions in three Presbyterian churches in Southeast Wisconsin. Gertie also was very involved with the Women's Presbytery of Wisconsin and served as President. She served the Lord by being an active member of Kettle Moraine Presbyterian Church and the Stone Bank Lioness.

Funeral Services will be held at noon on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Kettle Moraine Presbyterian Church, N66 W32690 Hwy K, (Hartland) Stone Bank, Wisconsin. Visitation will be at the church from 10 am until the time of the service. Private entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Kettle Moraine KMUP, Stone Bank Lioness’ or the Gideons.
