170 Warren Avenue
Quietly departed this life on September 10, 2016 while at home in West Bend. He was born on March 3, 1953 in Whitefish Bay, WI to the late Ruth (nee Deising) and Arthur Godar. He attended St. Robert Grade School and Shorewood High School.
Peter loved family and friends and was a great story teller. His journey through life was anything but simple or easy and it created more story telling opportunities than are usually found in one man. He was a salesman and a great sports fan, sharing many memories of Packer and Badger games and Michael Jordan era Bull’s games. He loved sports, especially water skiing and snow skiing, and spent many summers with his family on Okauchee Lake and many days on ski hills throughout the Midwest and Colorado. In later years, Pete became a bicycle rider, going throughout West Bend and Kewaskum visiting friends and tying all sundry things to his bike.
His life will be cherished in the memories of his sister Linda (Ned) Pellmann of Oconomowoc, his brothers Bill (Scottie) Godar of Greenville, South Carolina, Tom (Cindy) Godar of Oconomowoc and Richard (Lisa) Godar of Rochester, New York and a host of nephews and nieces who loved their Uncle Pete, as well as cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his nephew, Jake Godar, who is now showing his Uncle Pete around heaven.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM on October 18, 2016 at Elmbrook Church, 777 Barker Road, Brookfield, WI followed by a reception. A gathering for family and friends will be from 2 PM until the time of Services. If desired memorials can be designated to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission or Hope Street Ministries, which provides housing and Christian discipleship for those seeking to recover from drug and alcohol addiction.
