Daniel P. Fay, age 66, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018.
He was survived by his daughter, Erin Fay (Julia Slota) and his beloved grandchildren, Andrew Daniel Slota and Catherine Harper Slota. He was further survived by his siblings: Mary Frances (Don) Troudt, Ellen (Abbas) Fadel, sister-in-law Mary (Jim) Fay, Margaret Fay, Kathleen Fay, John (Gayle) Fay, Joanne (Dick) Fay-Albert, and Julie Fay-Krivitz. He was also blessed to have found love with Karen Parker. Dan is also survived by his godchildren, Maureen Fay, Quinn Krivitz and Colin Krivitz, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jim, and his nieces Ailish Barcelo and Colleen Fay.
Born August 8, 1951 to James J. Fay and M. Carol (Russell) Fay, Dan was a longtime resident of Pewaukee. He graduated from Marquette University Law School in 1977 and soon thereafter, started his own firm in his hometown. For the past 40 years, Dan has been one of the most dapper dressed and creative criminal defense attorneys in Waukesha County. He was a tireless advocate for people at the lowest points of their lives. He further enjoyed mentoring young lawyers, even those he battled against in court. Dan was immensely proud to work side-by-side with his attorney daughter in their law practice. But nothing made him happier than spending time with his grandchildren.
Dan also loved duck and deer hunting, as well as fly fishing. He enjoyed the companionship of “deer camp.” He went on great adventures to see the world, from fly fishing in Russia, to driving from Wisconsin to Alaska, to the great pyramids of Egypt, to the streets of Havana, Cuba.
Dan always had a story to tell and time to help his fellow lawyers, clients, family members, and neighbors.
