Lucille E. Meier was born, February 20, 1920, and passed away peacefully on the morning of June 15, 2018 at the age of 96 years.
Lucy, as she was affectionately called, married Hans Knaebel in 1946 and during their marriage, owned and operated the Purity Bakery in Waukesha and was extremely active in the business community. After early retirement, they moved to Nagawicka Lake and due to Hans suffering a stroke, Lucy became his caregiver for more than 25years.
Lucy continued a full and happy life, met and married Paul Meier in 1991 and lived in Hartland and Brookfield. After Pauls’ retirement from Stroh Die Casting, they enjoyed dancing, and traveling, especially to Florida. Both were active in their church serving wherever they could.
After Paul’s health began to fail, they moved to Pewaukee and Lucy assumed the role of caregiver once again, until his death in 2013.
Lucy can be best remembered for her devotion to and care of her family and her many friends; her generosity knew no limits; she was a tremendous cook, hostess and supreme baker and good friend.
Lucy leaves behind her dear sister Joanne Knecht of Pewaukee, Wisconsin and her nephew James Yanna (Lynn) of Mattawan, Michigan; great-niece Kelsey Yanna; great-nephew Brandon Yanna; two great-great nieces and a host of friends.
She is predeceased by her parents Gordon E. Loew & Hertha L. Loew (nee Boelk); beloved younger brother William; brother Willard G.(Ruth); sister Gertrude Yanna (Raymond) and brother-in-law (Carlton Knecht).
