Mary E. Hilger (Dahlke) longtime Hartland resident passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the age of 82.
She was born on the family farm in the Town of Lisbon to parents Ervin and Margaret Dahlke.
She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1952.
On November 24, 1956, she married the late William “Shorty” Hilger and settled in the Hartland area. Mary worked as a longtime cook at Arrowhead High School and Swallow Grade School. She enjoyed following the Wisconsin Sports Teams and nature.
Mary is survived by her loving children Margy (Dave) Zwieg and Tony (Laurie) Hilger, her grandson Nick Zwieg, and her siblings Jerome (Janice) Dahlke, her late twin sister Marjorie (Joe) Smatlak, and Fred (Ruth) Dahlke. She is further survived by her in-laws, Joe (Teresa) Hilger, Rita (Bud) Ferris, Sharon (Bernie) Stuettgen, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers-in-law and 6 sisters-in-law.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2017 at
St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland.
Final rest will be in St. Charles Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at church from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass.
